Directions to Soledad Canyon Area

To get to the Soledad Canyon area, take University Avenue east towards the Organ Mountains.  University Avenue will turn into Dripping Springs Road.  Once you get east of “A” Mountain, the Soledad Canyon area starts to take shape.  Continuing on Dripping Springs Road a few miles, you will reach Dripping Springs Nature Area which has a Visitors’ Center, handicapped accessible restrooms, and 12 picnic sites. The Center is open year round and features displays of the Organ Mountains. Over four miles of easy hiking trails provide many opportunities for enjoying the flora and fauna of this desert area.

Alternatively, turning south off of Dripping Springs Road onto Soledad Canyon Road, will take you all the way to the top of the area and the Soledad Canyon Day Use Area.  Three miles of easy hiking trails provides scenic views from the western foothills of the Organ Mountains and even a waterfall.
