Las Cruces Real Estate | Historical Fact - National Forests of New Mexico

Although New Mexico is known to be hot and dry and covered mostly by deserts, there are beautifully forested areas within New Mexico. In fact, there are 7 National Forests here in New Mexico. They span from Northern New Mexico to Southern New Mexico and even in the Southwestern part of the state. There is Carson National Forest, Santa Fe National Forest as well as Kiowa National Grasslands all up in Northern New Mexico. Then there is Cibola National Forest in the middle of the state. In the South Western part of the state is where Gila and Coronado National Forest are located. In the Southern part of the state is where Lincoln National Forest is located. This is the forest closest to our city of Las Cruces. Next time you need a getaway into the mountains check out one of these stunning National Forests that our state has to offer.
