Most people know about Route 66, since it is one of the very first major Highways in the United States, and enabled people to travel across the country a lot faster. But did you know that this historic Highway runs through several New Mexico cities. The route has been rerouted since its original construction, however the original route included cities like Gallup, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, Grants, Tucumcari and many more. Not all of these cities are still on Route 66 currently, because it has been rerouted for more convenience. This unique piece of US history runs right through our great state, making New Mexico even more spectacular in our eyes.
