If you are new to Las Cruces or just need something fun to do that is a fun and unique local experience, we recommend visiting the Gila Cliff Dwellings. These ancient remnants date back thousands of years, and are a fun and interactive activity to do with friends and family. They are located approximately 160 miles Northwest of Las Cruces in the Gila National Forest and about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Silver City. The dwellings are such an awesome piece of history left behind by the Mogollon who were ancient nomadic people. Hiking to the dwellings is definitely an experience that you won’t want to miss out on!
