If you’re new to Las Cruces, then you may not know that it lies in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert. But did you know how far the Chihuahuan desert actually expands? It expands into parts of Arizona. Most of it covers Southern New Mexico, Texas and a large portion of Mexico. This desert has a unique ecosystem. In the Chihuahuan desert you can find freshwater habitats, yucca woodlands, sand dunes as well as mountains and playas. We love that living in Las Cruces allows us to experience such a unique desert.
