Las Cruces Real Estate | Historical Fact - Albert Jennings Fountain
If you follow our posts, then you likely know that Pat Garrett, the man who shot Billy the Kid, worked on the case of the disappearance of Albert Jennings Fountain. Albert Jennings Fountain was an attorney and he and his son went missing near White Sands in 1896. Their wagon was discovered covered in blood and reported. Their bodies were nowhere near and therefore they were assumed to be missing. The initial suspects in the disappearances were two rival land owners, Oliver Lee and Albert Bacon Fall. The accused were put on trial and eventually acquitted due to lack of evidence. The bodies were never found and the disappearance remains unsolved to this day.
