Las Cruces Real Estate | De-Cluttering VS De-Personalizing

In the spirit of Spring, let's talk about what it means to De-Clutter and De-Personalize a home. When getting your home prepared to show, it's important to maintain that feeling of home; however, it's equally important to present a neutral palette that can appeal to multiple buyers.
De-Cluttering is a process that needs to take place when there is too much stuff within the space of the home. This happens as you live life throughout your home, so it is nothing abnormal. De-clutterting is necessary so that when potential buyers look at your home, you want them to be able to envision themselves living there with their furntiture and their items. One way to go about de-cluttering your home is to start packing up excess items and placing them in the garage. Chances are, buyers either will not look in the garage or if they do, they will understand that you're in the process of moving out.
De-personalizing deals more with removing personal items so that your family's safety and/or privacy isn't compromised. In order to help sell your home, we are going to bring in our marketing team to photograph and video all aspects of your home. With that being said, you don't want your family's names, personal info, or even sentimental objects ending up on the internet for all to see. The de-personalizing process will also help buyers to envision themselves living in the home going forward.
